MANAGER OF HR/PAYROLL OPERATIONS, Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF)-HR/Payroll, to ensure the integrity and accuracy of HR/Payroll data from entry to audit to validation. Will identify, develop, and initiate HR/Payroll innovations and solutions, including process improvements and automation; and lead and drive MIT's complex and diverse HR/Payroll systems and organizations. Responsibilities include setting strategic direction of payroll systems and processes, Service Center operations, and community customer service; collaborating on and leading significant technical system upgrades in conjunction with IS&T; working with central HR on identifying strategic areas of payroll and benefits Service Center integrations, with significant emphasis on customer service; and overseeing a team that manages the daily payroll operations of MIT's 20,000 member community and 5,000 retirees, ensuring that all are paid correctly and on time.

REQUIREMENTS: at least eight years' relevant experience; in-depth business knowledge of principles, practices, and theories of HR/payroll operations, including regulations, federal and state laws, and taxation; extensive professional experience managing complex (SAP) HR/Payroll business processes and enhancing HR/Payroll products and services; demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain outstanding professional staff; strong team leadership and project management skills; demonstrated focus on change-management and business process improvement; substantial professional leadership experience managing customer service teams with a focus on delivering exceptional service; attention to detail; ability to handle a high volume of work; and superior collaboration, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Experience working with a large-scale ERP system, particularly SAP, highly desired. A bachelor's degree is preferred, but a master's may enhance ability in the role. MIT experience or experience in another higher education or research setting strongly preferred. MIT-00009099-Q
