Fontana?s Reid Park will undoubtedly be packed this Saturday, September?1st as friends, family and neighbors come out to celebrate Dan Green?s Pig in the Park, a pig roast now named for the man who was one of the founding fathers of Pig in the Park, an?event that brought the community together to enjoy fun and fellowship while raising money to support the Little Foot Playground.

The fun begins at 4:00 p.m. with a kid?s area filled with tons of stuff to keep the kids busy.? A bounce house, obstacle course, petting zoo and pony rides are the main attractions, but face painting, speed ball, T-shirt making and bungee basketball promise to be just as much fun.? The kid?s area will close at 8:00 p.m.? The beer tent and live music also start at 4:00 p.m. and will remain open until 10:00 p.m.? The entertainment will begin with Big Al Wetzel & Friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Mac & John will play from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and students from the School of Rock in Williams Bay will perform from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

There are 3 meal options this year.? Kid?s tickets are $3.00 and include a hot dog, chips, a cookie and a juice box.? Adult tickets are $10.00 and include a pulled pork sandwich, hot dog or brat, baked beans, chips, corn, dessert and a non-alcoholic beverage.? Dan Green was a great guy and very devoted to the community he lived in.? He was a Fontana Park Commissioner, a Fontana volunteer firefighter, a contractor for the Illinois Department of Transportation and a real estate agent at Keefe Real Estate.? He went out of his way at every turn to do something nice for anyone who needed it.? He touched a lot of lives and is missed by everyone.

Working From Home - The Latest Options | Making Money From Home

While these ideas are not necessarily new, the ways in which they are being performed have changed dramatically over the last couple of years. Otherwise known as multi-level-marketing (which it seems people don?t like using these days due to the negative connotations), network marketing involves moving a product through a network of people collecting commissions off one?s down-line. It?s important to step away from any old preconceived ideas of what this business model is you may have however. It has stepped into the light in a big way in the 21st century, and old images of people stockpiling water filters in their garages, chasing up their friends about their ?new business opportunity? and hosting ?business meetings? in their lounge rooms are no longer relevant. Modern network marketing involves sophisticated online lead generation, automated marketing funnels, and utilizes an informed and professional sales network to move products that are generally too specialist or high end to be moved through traditional retail chains. Legitimate network marketing companies generally offer a product or service that is of a higher quality than what people can find in their supermarkets and shops, which requires knowledgeable sales people and strong interpersonal relationships. Aligning yourself with the right company in a growing sector can see you build a sizable distributorship which over the years can provide a solid residual income, allowing you to spend your time on other things you?d love to do, besides working. I particularly like this business model because I like to be paid several times over for one unit of work, just like royalties.

We see them everywhere, and it seems we know someone who has one. What am I talking about? Blogs! Seriously though, can someone actually create an income source from writing about a particular topic? People will actually link to your blog because it?s obvious you actually know what you are on about. Once you have built up a small base of followers you can then think about monetizing your website (getting paid to blog). Google AdSense is the most foolproof and generally in most scenarios the highest returning ad platform to run on a website, especially a blog(due to its simple integration with many blog platforms like WordPress). Your unique and authoritative blog will begin receiving traffic and a percentage of it will inevitably click through on some of your ad links, creating a nice revenue stream. Hit it big with a popular blog and those clicks can add up to hundreds and even thousands of dollars a day. Not bad for a couple of hours a week writing about something you love. Beyond AdSense there are numerous other ways to monetize a blog and here are a short few in point form:

• Display related affiliate offers throughout your posts in which you receive a commission as a result of any sales that happen as a result of people buying from your recommendation/link.
  
• Build a mailing list in which you can then send other related offers down the track.
  
• Once you blog is sizable, sell advertising space or editorials.

Building a blog with a good readership and steady stream of traffic is something that won?t pay off immediately, but your ROI will continue to increase per unit of time spent the longer you spend with it. This will continue to the point where you are getting paid many many times over for just a small amount of work from home per week creating unique original content. This happens almost to the point of a walk away home based income, although some may say that once you reach that point of success it?s not quite as set and forget as an existing MLM distributorship (assuming their company continues to stay in business, which many don?t).

Number 3: Online Product/Information Creation

Potentially the most difficult, but also brings the greatest potential payoff. Coming up with an original online product seems like a daunting task, but the workload and skills required are often a lot less than you may think at first. Your original info product or service may even be something as simple as an eBook about how to do something in particular. People have made millions of dollars online and continue to do so with online product creation. Creating a simple physical product and then using the internet as your main sales avenue is also another way to look at this opportunity. Just like with blog writing, there would be a field in which you could be regarded as an expert. It is best to go about creating your product in this field. Here are some simple examples of products where people have created a business out of thin air, making many times their return on investment and carving out a very decent ongoing revenue stream.

• A product teaching your bird to talk.
  
• Product teaching your cat to use the toilet instead of kitty litter.
  
• Simple online applications to automate daily rituals people do on their computers (programming can be outsourced very cheaply often for $10 and under an hour)
  
• Simple websites that fill basic existing voids (think about how simple a site like twitter is, but look at their massive success)

I hope this has given you some fresh insight into some pre-existing ideas to work from home. Where there is a will there is a way, and as someone who has worked at home for themselves online since high school and throughout university with these exact business models, I know that it is possible for you to do it too. All you need to do is take a first step, stick with it and keep learning. Don?t move onto one thing from another, get one idea working before you move ahead and be willing to make some mistakes along the way. WASHINGTON, Aug. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --?In a symposium at the historic Willard Intercontinental Hotel on Saturday, former senior U.S. officials urged the State Department to delist the main Iranian opposition group, the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MeK), and protect its members in Camps Ashraf and Liberty in Iraq.?

In his opening remarks, former Congressman Patrick Kennedy ?made a reference to the 6th group of 400 of the residents of Camp Ashraf who were preparing to go to Camp Liberty from Ashraf: "As the sixth convoy leaves and because of the leadership and good will gesture of Madam Rajavi, it's appropriate that we call on the Iraqi government, that we call on the United Nations and Mr. Kobler to finally do the right thing and that's honor the humanitarian issues that have been pointed out in the Memorandum of Understanding."

General James Jones, President Obama's former National Security Advisor, and former Commander, Supreme Allied Command-Europe, who could not attend the conference, said in a written message, "The right thing to do, the humanitarian thing to do, is for the United States to remove the terrorist listing currently ascribed to the people of Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty, and to champion a program of third country repatriation as soon as possible."

Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey described Secretary Clinton's linkage of cooperation in the closure of Ashraf and the de-listing of the MeK as being "completely lawless, because it's got nothing to do with standards under the statute." He added, "The continued listing of MeK is the main obstacle to resettlement and the MeK has done all in its power to comply with even the irrelevant demand that Ashraf be closed.? Enough is enough." Judges Mukasey concluded that the residents of Camp Ashraf "have already put their lives on the line yet again by trying to organize yet another convey and have been frustrated in that effort; it is not time to urge further accommodation by the residents, it is time to urge common sense on the State Department."

Former CIA Director Porter Goss added, "My job is to find terrorists?We looked at Camp Ashraf but we didn't find any? Nobody has been able to find any; we sent the FBI, we sent the military."? Former New York Senator Alfonse D'Amato agreed, "MeK has been the sworn enemy of the corrupt Mullahs who are there now.? Let's make them our friend? Let's bring down terrorism."

Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert said the focus should be to make sure that MeK is de-listed. "If that happens, it takes away the issue of Ashraf.? It takes away the issue of Camp Liberty and gives people the opportunity to be repatriated to a country of their choice."? As to the impact of the voice of Congress so far, Mr. Hastert said, "I think it puts the State Department in a tenuous situation in the reticence that they've had in not de-listing the MeK. If the State Department doesn't do its job, Congress can withhold part of the funding for the State Department."

"What is not difficult," former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, said "is this question of de-listing MeK? From a justice perspective, it would appear to be the only thing that we could do." ?Gov. Ritter added, "After watching the promises made in 2003 to the residents of Camp Ashraf, not just by the United States Government and the United Nations, but by the international community, in many respects those have been really unilaterally broken." "This notion of transferring from Ashraf to Liberty and that it would be in a sense a transition, for the American people a transition from one place to a worse place on your way to a better place is not a just transition," he added.

Former Coalition Forces Commander in Afghanistan Gen. Dan McNeill, said, "A nuclear weapons capable Iran with its present government would be a traumatically destabilizing factor for not just the Gulf but for a greater reason. Where does it stop?" General McNeill added, "I do advocate replacing such a repressive government, by plebiscite and popular demand, it would fair far better.? It would also set an example for others in the region."

"When I talk to the State Department, they say, oh, these are the MeK, as if somehow or other they're terrorists.? Well, prove it.? The court compelled you to prove it and I sat in that court hearing room.? And I didn't hear anything.? Where is the proof?? I heard nothing from my friends in the Department. I keep asking the Treasury Department, where is the proof?? I get no answer from the Treasury Department.? I asked the Justice Department, where is the proof that this is a terrorist organization?? The unrest was the worst since rioting after the 2009 election, which saw Bongo succeed his father Omar following his death after 42 years in power.

The UN says one person was killed and dozens injured.

Mba Obame, a former member of the ruling party who defected to the opposition, left Gabon in 2011 after declaring himself elected head of state, refusing to recognise the electoral victory of Ali Bongo in 2009.

His UN party was subsequently dissolved and therefore does not have the right to organise demonstrations.

Around 150 people, mostly UN supporters, marched Wednesday in the capital Libreville, along with the coffin containing a young woman who died on August 15, the day of the protest, an AFP correspondent reported.

The opposition said the young woman suffered from asthma and reacted badly to the tear gas fired by police. The authorities said she died a natural death.

Mba Obame, accompanied by party leaders, visited the home of the dead woman in a working class district of Libreville, where the coffin arrived after the funeral march.

China court gives Gu Kailai 'suspended death sentence'

A Chinese court on Monday handed Gu Kailai, wife of the disgraced leader Bo Xilai, a suspended death sentence for murdering a British man, a lawyer for the victim's family said.

He Zhengsheng told reporters after Monday's hearing that Gu had been found guilty and given the death penalty with two years' reprieve -- a sentence that is usually commuted to life in prison.

Gu confessed during her trial this month to killing 41-year-old Neil Heywood by pouring poison down his throat, saying that she had threatened her son after a business deal went sour.

Monday's hearing was closed to foreign reporters, but He, who was in court, said that Gu was present to hear her sentence.

Zhang Xiaojun, an employee of the Bo family who was charged as an accomplice to the murder, was sentenced to nine years in jail, He said, adding, "we respect today's decision".

Heywood's death in a hotel room in southwest China last November was initially attributed to a heart attack, but Chinese authorities said in April that Gu was suspected of killing him.

The case brought down her husband Bo, who had been tipped for promotion to the elite group of Communist Party leaders that effectively rules China until the allegations against his wife burst into the open.

He was placed under investigation for corruption in April and his fate remains unclear.

Political analysts say China's leaders are eager to draw a line under the controversy, which revealed deep rifts at the heart of the party ahead of a generational handover of power due to begin this autumn.

Financial Analysis Project | Chad Davis

Today I finished up my financial analysis project budgeting for my trip to Greece for my birthday. Overall I found this process and project to be very helpful. This is a project that actually has skills that people would use in their real lives, which is a great learning objective to achieve. I didn?t run into any challenges with this project as this is an aspect of my life that I am very detailed with and I attend to it with great care. I think managing a budget and knowing where you spend your money is a really important lesson for any young adult to learn. In fact, I have often argued that our public school curriculum should include a mandatory personal finance course in high school. I don?t think you should be able to earn your high school diploma without having demonstrated some basic understanding of personal finance including budgeting, account maintenance, and credit card basics! But I digress.

As I mentioned in my actual project, I found all of my ?tools really helpful. I really appreciate the functionality of Quicken and Excel as well as web-based tools for finding information necessary to project a budget for an international trip. All in all, this was a great two weeks with some great outcomes. And it doesn?t hurt to combine a school project with a real world project!

I sometimes wish Breaking Bad spent more time with the addicts who destroy their lives and their families with Heisenberg?s blue meth. But this week revealed the saddest, most desperate addict of them all: Walter White. As you say, Matt, Mike?s exit strategy makes sense, but addicts never take the sensible route. Apparently, Walt?s desire to be the Cecil Rhodes of the ABQ drugs scene has fried his brain.?

I understand why Walt would still be hung up on the mistake he made back in the Gray Matter days?that $2.16 billion market cap would haunt anyone. But the guy whose cover story is that he?s a high-stakes poker player should listen to the wisdom of Kenny Rogers: ?Ev?ry gambler knows that the secret to survivin?/ Is knowin? what to throw away and knowin? what to keep.? Walt misplayed his Gray Matter aces, but for his own sanity and everyone else?s safety he needs to walk away from the table. Unless he has a very good plan?and I?m skeptical?Walt?s pride and his desire to replay his big hand are robbing everyone of a chance to get out of a very dangerous game.

I did love the business with the wires, though. I always enjoy it when Walt demonstrates the power of science. And it?s yet another reminder of what a bummer it was to leave Gray Matter. (Didn?t the ?personal reasons? Walt told Jesse about involve Gretchen, his former lab partner who is now Gray Matter CEO Elliott Schwartz?s wife?) Walt is clearly a brilliant and imaginative chemist; remember back in Season 4 when Elliott told the guests at his birthday party that it was Walt?s insights into crystallography that made the company?s patents possible? And it?s tragic that he?s using his knowledge to such despicable ends. Walt?s MacGyvering of the wiring also reminded me of Herr Schuler?s suicide by defibrillator in Episode 2.

I have to admit that for all of Declan?s financial smarts??I?m not just buying this for the supply, I?m buying it for the demand??I felt bad for the drug users of the southwestern United States that his real motivation is to get the superior blue meth off the market. That means Walt and Jesse would play Betamax to Declan?s VHS.

Perhaps it?s that I just read a book about World War II deception efforts, but I?m starting to wonder if Hank and Gomez know that Mike and co. are listening to their conversations and are feeding them misinformation. Of course, we?ve seen no evidence for that, but the tidbits of information the partners pick up in their eavesdropping always seem to be just what they want to hear. That?s suspiciously convenient.

To answer your questions, Emily, Todd creeps me out. His cradling of the tarantula jar, the veiled threat about his uncle in jail, the way he knew to stroke Walt?s ego by calling him ?Mr. White??all of this made me think he could mess up the merry threesome. The rationalization he offered for killing the kid??I saw a threat, and I took care of it the only way I could??could also justify the partners killing him. I felt bad that they voted to keep him on the payroll.

And I found that scene between Skyler and Marie absolutely heart-breaking. Skyler is clearly being driven crazy?and into a lot of bad habits?by the secrets that she knows she can?t share. Her realization that Walt told Marie about her affair with Ted was so devastating because it reminded her that no one in this family can keep anything to themselves. That destroys any possibility that she could unburden herself to her closest confidante?especially given Hank?s profession.

Car bombs rock Libya's capital, killing 2 people

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) ? A Libyan security official says two car bombs have exploded in Libya's capital, killing two people.

The official says the first car bomb went off in a main street early in the morning Sunday, killing two and wounding four people.

Thirty minutes later, a cab parked in a narrow alley by the Interior Ministry exploded, wounding several people. The official says a third car bomb was discovered, also near the ministry, but was defused.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak to the media.

Tripoli's security authorities went on high alert after the bombings. The city is to hold Muslim prayers later Sunday at the main Tripoli square for the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which marks the end of the month of Ramadan.

Movie review: Latest Disney offering suffers from farfetched idea ...

It?s supremely ironic when a movie that heavily relies on the visual machinery of trees and foliage turns out to be quite sappy.

Walt Disney Pictures? ?The Odd Life of Timothy Green? suffers from having a plot and premise so implausible that it fails to reserve human understanding. Harsh, yes, but keep in mind it is a film about a ten-year-old with leafy legs.

When Cindy and Jim Green, played by Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Garner, come to grips with not being able to conceive, they draw up a batch of notes about how perfect their imaginary progeny would be.

During that dark and stormy night (yes, really), the notes are placed into a box and buried and then, to the Green?s surprise, a ten-year-old, played by CJ Adams, appears at their front door the next morning.

The biggest problem is that this live action, sentimentally clich? flick runs for 90 minutes. With every foreseeable plot twist at each corner, the film quickly becomes forced and predictable.

This would?ve benefited greatly from being a 70-minute-long animation. A film centered on a child composed of vegetation would?ve been amazing if the witches and warlocks at Pixar or the masters at Studio Ghibli had gotten their hands on it first.

Sad as it sounds, 90 minutes and real people make it so hard to digest, and the film ends up feeling awkward.

The film?s cast seemed to be doing their very best to work with what had been given to them. Child actor CJ Adams made being a tree-child believable, plus he?s camera-friendly in a childish way not seen since 1944?s ?National Velvet? that starred an adolescent Elizabeth Taylor.

China tells Japan to stop 'harming' its sovereignty

China on Saturday demanded that Japan immediately cease actions "harming" its territorial sovereignty amid an escalating dispute over rival claims to islands in the East China Sea.

China's foreign ministry made the comment in a statement reacting to plans by a group of Japanese to sail Saturday to the uninhabited islands after Tokyo deported pro-China activists who had sailed there from Hong Kong.

"China has made solemn representations to Japan, demanding that it immediately cease actions harming China's territorial sovereignty," the statement said.

The statement by ministry spokesman Qin Gang, was in response to a media question regarding the planned trip to the contested islands by Japanese lawmakers and nationalist groups.

"China reiterates that any unilateral action taken by Japan regarding" the islands "are illegal and invalid", it said, adding that such actions will not undermine its claim over the territory.

It follows another statement late Friday which called on Japan to pursue "dialogue and negotiation" to resolve the dispute.

Japan, which controls the islands, on Friday deported 14 activists who had sailed there, moving swiftly to put an end to a potentially damaging row with Beijing.

Some of them become the first non-Japanese to set foot on any part of the East China Sea archipelago -- known as Diaoyu in China and Senkaku in Japan -- since 2004.

Columbia, Mo. ? Former Toledo (Ohio) Blade Religion Editor David Yonke and Hartford (Conn.) Courant alum Ann Marie Somma were recently hired as editors and local community managers of Religion News LLC?s forthcoming ToledoFAVS.com and HartfordFAVS.com faith and values news sites. Their posts began in July.

Somma has worked as a reporter for numerous media companies in Connecticut in the last 15 years, among them: The Waterbury-Republican American, The Danbury New Times, The Hartford Courant and most recently at WFSB-TV as a multi-media producer. While at the Courant, Somma dabbled in the faith beat, covering stories on Muslim burial rites, shocking revelations of the Legionaries of Christ?s founder fathering a child, billboards promoting Islam understanding and other reports.

Preceding them are SpokaneFAVS.com (Editor Tracy Simmons), WilmingtonFAVS.com (Editor Amanda Greene) and ColumbiaFAVS.com (Editor Kellie Kotraba), which launched only weeks ago.

The sites are part of a three-year initiative through Religion News LLC and the project?s primary partner, Religion News Service, to create local religion news sites in the U.S. where faith coverage is underreported or could be expanded. The sites cover beliefs, ethics and ideas from a non-sectarian viewpoint and feature daily news and opinion content from professional and citizen journalists.

In addition to engaging religion reports and dialogue, the sites also help community members explore beliefs within and outside their traditions through tools such as a faith-based directory, a community calendar, press release listings and obituary notices.

Religion News LLC and Religion News Service are headquartered at the University of Missouri?s School of Journalism. The community news sites are part of a $3.5 million grant from the Lilly Endowment to RNLLC.
