Hump Day Healthy Thoughts: Beach Edition! ? A Taste of Taylor
Good morning everyone, happy hump day! It looks like it is going to be a scorcher here in Baltimore? I wouldn?t complain if today hadn?t been such a good hair day before I stepped out into the humidity :( #bummer
Oh well, I?d much rather be hot than cold! This is the kind of weather that I dream about on those freezing cold days in February!
As most of you who regularly stop by and check out my blog probably know, Wednesdays mean that it is time for Hump Day Healthy Thoughts!
I was quite excited when I sat down to start blogging this morning and realized that 3 weeks from today I will be at the beach right now! The beach is one of my favorite places in the world and most of my favorite and lasting childhood memories are from our family beach vacations. As I?ve gotten older, the anticipation for our yearly summer trip has become clouded by my desire to be ?bikini ready?. It has been a really long time since I have let someone photograph me in a bathing suit or felt good enough to walk the beach confidently even thought I have never even been remotely close to being overweight!
Well, this year I am proud to say that this is no longer the case! I have made some serious lifestyle changes in the course of the past year, including starting the Tone It Up plan and it?s corresponding clean-eating diet. I have also started to use the weight section of the gym and shed my fear about weights bulking me up! I am more confident than I have ever been and I can honestly say that I am looking forward to being able to get excited over the course of the next few weeks rather than worrying about having to get fit quick!
I usually go to my pin boards to share some of my favorite health and fitness inspiration with you all for Hump Day Healthy thoughts. In thinking about what has inspired my healthy attitude towards going to the beach this summer and staying committed to the healthy lifestyle I have adopted, here are three thoughts that I would like to leave you with on this hot & humid hump day! I hope you enjoy them, I?d love to hear what you think or if they inspire you in similar ways ? ENJOY :)
?
Questions of the morning:
Would you rather be super hot or super cold?
Do you have any lasting memories of family summer vacations? Do you have any beach plans on the agenda for the summer?

Google exec: technology wave leaving many behind
JERUSALEM (AP) ? Google's executive chairman Eric Schmidt on Tuesday warned that vast numbers of the world's population are missing out on the advantages brought by the Internet.
Schmidt said that about 2 billion people, less than a third of the world's population, have Internet access, and 1 billion have smartphones.
"The World Wide Web has yet to live up to its name," he said. "Technology does not produce miracles, but connectivity, even in modest amounts, changes lives."
Schmidt served as Google's chief executive from 2001 to 2011, leading it through its initial public offering and transforming it into one of the world's largest and most influential companies. He stepped down as CEO last year and has been executive chairman since then. Google turned into a huge company "with its goal of making information accessible to the masses," he said.
Schmidt was in Israel to attend an annual conference sponsored by President Shimon Peres. Despite his concerns, Schmidt delivered an optimistic message, saying that the tremendous growth of smartphones can quickly reduce the gaps between haves and have-nots.
"All of us are blessed with a capacity for innovation_connectivity will help unlock that potential," he said. He pointed to the Internet's ever-widening reach and its educational potential, citing the Khan Academy's 3,000 video lessons on YouTube. The Khan Academy, which receives funding from Google, is a nonprofit organization that offers free online lectures in subjects ranging from physics to American history and algebra.
Schmidt also warned about Internet privacy, saying the "lack of a delete button" online meant incriminating posts could spell disaster for unwary Web users. "If you upload a video of your young friend drunk without their permission, you may be ruining their life."
Israel is a high-tech powerhouse and hosts research operations for many of the world's top technology companies, including Google.
During his visit, Schmidt met with Peres and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and presented the two with digital photos of the Dead Sea Scrolls in commemoration of a Google project that has preserved portions of the ancient collection online.
Netanyahu's office said the two men also discussed cooperation in medicine, science and defense against cyber-attacks.

Ex-Saint Hargrove says it's not his voice in clip

NEW YORK (AP) ? Former New Orleans defensive end Anthony Hargrove says it's not his voice saying "Give me the money" in a video used by the NFL as evidence in its investigation of the Saints' bounty program.
A day after Hargrove and three of his ex-teammates made appeals of their suspensions at NFL headquarters, he returned to the sidewalk outside the league offices Tuesday for an informal news conference. As curious passers-by huddled around, Hargrove read a 13-minute statement, making references to Bill Clinton and the Mona Lisa and often sounding like a colorful defense attorney giving a closing argument.
"I've never offered nor received money to intentionally hurt a player," Hargrove said.
On Monday, the NFL showed reporters a clip from the 2010 NFC championship game in which Hargrove purportedly made the "money" comment about injuring then-Vikings quarterback Brett Favre. Hargrove insisted it was someone else uttering those words, though he said he didn't know who.
Hargrove was flagged and subsequently fined $5,000 for a flagrant hit on Favre, who returned to the game.
"This happens," Hargrove said, looking into the TV cameras. "Brett, I'm truly sorry."
Hargrove, now with Green Bay, has been suspended for eight games.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said: "We stand by the findings of our investigation."
On Monday, Hargrove, Will Smith, Scott Fujita and Jonathan Vilma attended appeals hearings with Commissioner Roger Goodell. After the sessions, the NFL presented the same evidence it showed the players to reporters. The Hargrove clip was part of that.
An NFL investigation found that former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams ran a system from 2009 through last season under which New Orleans players received cash bonuses for hits that knocked specific opponents out of games. Williams has been suspended indefinitely and other Saints coaches also have been punished.
Wearing a backward baseball cap and a white T-shirt, Hargrove called NFL officials "master politicians," making an analogy to Clinton's use of semantics when he said, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." And just as the Mona Lisa does not appear to smiling unless you look close enough, Hargrove declared, the league's evidence does not hold up to closer scrutiny.
Hargrove, though, offered few specifics to back up his vivid imagery.
"I have felt like the target of a sophisticated mugging," he said.
